Food Navigation
Dipika Patel knows how to make ends meet. As a community outreach worker in London, UK she interacted with both teens and senior citizens who were navigating “the art of getting by.” As a nutrition and lifestyle coach she also understands the long term benefit of maximizing the quality of your food and the value of what choose as fuel for our bodies. For these reasons, she seemed like the perfect choice for the speaker of the CFM’s first Free Community Nutrition Education Presentation.

Partnering For Health – Both Body and Budget
This first partnership, in collaboration with the Palm Springs Library, covers topics ranging from “What is the state of our food choices today?” to “The pros/cons of switching to a healthier diet” and “Getting the biggest bang for your food buck.” Dipika will offer real, practical tips on choosing food that offers positive health benefits without breaking the bank, particularly as it applies to fresh produce. Whether transforming your eating habits is on the “to-do” list for 2018 or you’re looking for ways to trim your budget as well as your physique, this presentation is open to all.
GOOD and CHEAP
As the topic will likely cause participants’ mouths to water, Dipika will bring samples of her favorite healthy snack and the Certified Farmers’ Markets will gift one person with the deliciously illustrated cookbook “GOOD and CHEAP”. All this and more in the community room of the main Library, beginning at 6:30 p.m. this Wednesday, December 20th. For more information, contact Julie Warren at 760-416-6731.
